Compassion Card Project | Buy One and we will Give One

At the end of last year, I decided to start a "compassion" project.  My heart felt a tug.  I felt that the world could use a bit more kindness.  I launched our greeting card line last year and felt that our cards were the perfect fit for this project! For every greeting card that is sold, we will match and donate to our new friends. A different partnership will be chosen each month and appropriate cards will be donated. 

Here are a few ideas that I have for future partnerships:

Our first partnership was with St. Jude in Memphis, TN. We donated 4 different designs that visitors could give to St. Jude patients. The cards will be placed in the lobby and visitors can grab a card and write a quick note to their friend or family member.

Personalized Luggage Tags for Team Gifts

We are often asked for advice on affordable personalized gift options for team sports, cheerleading organizations, etc.  Our luggage tags make a thoughtful and practical gift.  This past weekend, I had the privilege of making luggage tags for a school in Texas.  I used their team colors and added a glitter detail for the girls. The coaches got a more traditional design.  

You can tie a grosgrain ribbon on top of the tag to make it even cuter.  At this time, we don’t sell the attached ribbon but I think it’s a precious bonus!

Looking for a fun Valentine Card? We've got it!

Earlier this month, I announced that we are starting a "Compassion Card Project." Each month, we will match every 'greeting card' that is purchased on one of our sites (wackykracker.com and Etsy). We will select 4 different designs and donate to a hospital or retirement home. Our hope is that guests will write a sweet note of encouragement to the person they are visiting. We have partnered with St. Jude Children's Hospital this month.  Help us continue to spread love and joy in 2018. Baby, It's Cold Outside

Memphis weather can fluctuate from 60 degrees to single digit temperature within 24 hours.  Last night, we received our 2^nd snow for 2018.  My kids are home, our pantries are packed, and my space heater is blasting under my desk.  As comfortable as I am within my own 4 walls, I can’t help but think about people that may be sick and didn’t have a chance to get out yesterday to prepare for this frigid weather or our elderly neighbors.

It really takes such a small amount of time and costs so little to be thoughtful.   

 

I came up with these two fun ideas due to our current weather conditions.  You can purchase the soup and wrap with a napkin for less than $2.00.  The gloves are from the dollar store and I grabbed hot chocolate too.  Such fun gifts to spread some warmth! A sweet gift for someone that needs a boost!

Do you ever get a phone call from a friend and you hear the stress or pain in their voice?  Those moments have made me feel helpless in the past.  I’ve taught myself over the years to be the QUEEN of porch happies.  Here is a fun gift that should lift spirits.  I found this sparkling lemonade at Aldi’s.  Honestly, I bought it because of the cool bottle.  I have no idea how it tastes. And yes, that is snow!!  We just had our first ice/snow day of 2018 :)

Sneaking a little gift on a porch makes me feel like a fairy.  It’s nice to let someone know that you’re thinking about them. My way of sprinkling a little love and joy through the world.

Rock and Roll, anyone?

One of my boys, Aidan, has decided to pursue music. WE. ARE. SUPER. EXCITED.  He received an electric guitar for Christmas and has been patiently waiting to begin School of Rock.  Well, his first lesson was this week. He’s hooked. I’m hooked. We’re all hooked.  After his lesson, he went straight to his bedroom to practice.  I’ve learned that when one of my kids takes initiative without me harping, we’re onto something!

My morning routine consists of scanning Pinterest for unique gift ideas. For the last couple of weeks, I have been seeing different versions of candy themed guitars. As I was scouring my local Dollar Tree, I found these toy guitars and realized this would be the perfect platform for Hershey Kisses. It’s an easy and inexpensive gift for any music lover.  You just hot glue Hershey kisses to the guitar.

My heart swells when I watch any of my boys excited over a new journey.   He'll get this lil' cutie after his lesson next week. This is going to be a fun ride for this family!  Rock on, friends!

Graduation Ideas

It's hard to believe that graduation parties will start soon!  Here are a couple of fun ideas that have popped up in my Pinterest feeds.  We have more ideas on our Graduation Pinterest Board.  Link below.

1.  Love the idea of using the cap and gown as a decoration!
